Lego as a Business School

Problem-solving, teamwork, building under constraints — these are entrepreneur skills. And kids learn them best through play. Lego Kids Course at Kiin Hub, April 18 & 25.

Lego as a Business School

Lego has been on the tables of the world's best business schools for decades. MIT, INSEAD, London Business School. Not as a toy. As a methodology.

It's called Lego Serious Play. And the idea is simple: your hands think differently than your head.

When you build something with your hands, you activate parts of the brain that reading and listening don't reach. You process faster. You find connections you couldn't see. You say things you didn't know you knew.

That's exactly what an entrepreneur needs.

What skills does Lego build in a child?

Systems thinking. Seeing how pieces connect — and how moving one affects all the others. The same skill a business leader needs to understand their company.

Tolerance for uncertainty. No instructions. Just a goal and the pieces in front of you. Same as in business.

Rapid iteration. You build, test, break, rebuild. In business they call it a pivot. In Lego they call it playing.

Communicating ideas. When you finish, you have to explain what you built. Why you did it that way. What it represents. That's a pitch. That's leadership.

Collaboration without losing your vision. You work with others, negotiate space, integrate different ideas. Exactly what a team needs.

The difference between learning about business and learning to do business

A book explains what a pivot is. Lego makes you pivot.

A book talks about teamwork. Lego puts you in a team in real time.

Kids who learn this way don't just know more. They think differently.
