You paid for the design, the site is live, and when you search your business on Google... nothing. This happens way more than you'd think.
The most common reason — Google hasn't seen it yet
Google doesn't automatically index every new site that pops up online. It has to discover it, crawl it, and decide whether it's worth showing. That can take days or weeks if no one tells it the site exists.
How to tell Google your site is there
The tool is called Google Search Console. It's free. You register your site there, submit a sitemap, and ask Google to take a look. Without that, you're hoping it stumbles onto you on its own — which can take a long time.
Your site loads with JavaScript and Google can't read it
If your site was built with certain modern platforms or page builders, Google might see a blank page. The content exists for the visitor, not for Google. The fix is called SSR (Server Side Rendering) — it's what lets Google actually read what's on the page.
Your keywords aren't in the right places
Google reads the page title, the description, and the headings. If the words your customers are searching for aren't there, you won't show up when they search. Example: you sell insurance in Playa del Carmen, but your title just says "Welcome to our company." Nobody searching "Playa del Carmen insurance" is going to find you.
Nobody else links to your site
Google trusts pages that other sites recommend. Those are called backlinks. A business directory, a blog post, or a mention on a credible page can move your ranking more than a lot of technical fixes combined.
What you can actually do this week
First — register your site in Google Search Console. Second — make sure your site loads cleanly and fast. Third — go through every page title and check that it describes what you actually do. Fourth — get at least one directory or outside site to mention your business.
