You don't need a new app or a 5 a.m. alarm to work better. Most of the time, getting more done isn't about doing more things. It's about protecting the few that move your week.
Here are three simple habits. No tools, no courses, you can start today, and by Friday you'll notice the difference.
One task before email
The first hours of the day tend to be your clearest. The problem is that email and chats arrive loaded with other people's priorities, and the moment you open them, your morning stops being yours.
So protect the first 60 minutes for a single task: the one that moves your week the most. No inbox, no notifications, no “let me just check quickly.” One thing, until you move it forward.
To make it work, choose it the night before. That way you sit down in the morning already knowing what to start on, without spending your best energy deciding.
The two-minute rule
Small to-dos are sneaky. Each one looks like nothing, but together they fill your head and your list: replying to a message, sending a detail, confirming an appointment.
Here is how it works: if something takes less than two minutes, do it on the spot instead of writing it down. Noting it, remembering it and coming back to it later usually costs more than getting it done at once.
One detail so it doesn't break your focus: group these small tasks in the gaps between bigger ones, not in the middle of deep work. Clear them in a batch and keep going.
Close the day with tomorrow's three
Starting the morning by deciding what to do spends your freshest energy on the wrong question. That decision turns out better when the day is over and you still have the context.
Before you shut down, write the three tasks you will get done tomorrow. Not ten, three. The ones you want finished by the end of the day.
The next day you open that note and start with the first one. No meetings with yourself, no warming up. The day comes already decided.
To wrap up
None of these habits is about squeezing in more hours. They are about putting your attention where it pays off: one task at a time, small to-dos out of the way, and tomorrow decided from today.
Try all three this week. If you keep only one, make it the first.
This month at Kiin Hub we're spending time on working better and designing the second half of the year. If you'd like to do it alongside other entrepreneurs, this Thursday, June 18, we're hosting Conexiones & Coffee, a session to rethink how you sell with LEGO® Serious Play®.
